'Live Traffic' Widget Coming to Android Version of Google Maps: Tracking Traffic Will Be Much Easier
If we say that Google Maps is perhaps the most used navigation application today, we will not be wrong. This application, which is used all over the world, has many useful features. One of these features is that you can see the traffic situation live while you are or are not cruising.
According to a new blog post published by Google, you will now be able to use this feature in a much more compact way. But only for Android. How? Let's take a look at the update details together.
Google Maps' new widget will display traffic in your immediate areas. While this is an already existing feature, it's the first time that information has been displayed in real time from your home screen in the form of widgets.
The new widget is designed as a square tile with a traditional look that shows real-time traffic at your current location. Instead of opening the entire program, the widget allows users to see traffic at a glance. According to Google, this feature will come in handy when you travel to a place you go to, such as work, school, or home.
Users can interact with the widget using the toggle button in the corner to zoom in and out. It is currently unclear whether this widget will be resizable like other Android widgets. The widget uses artificial intelligence to show real-time traffic updates, such as the full Google Maps experience. What do you think?
