WhatsApp is testing the report feature to ensure the safety of its users!
Whatsapp, which has actively surpassed two billion users, continues to innovate in the areas of privacy and security. So much so that WhatsApp is working on the "report" feature, this time without any notification.
So, what will this novelty look like and how to use it? Let's take a look at the details of the news together.
According to a post published today by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing the ability to report offensive content. The upcoming function, especially for status updates, will additionally apply to messages.
If the status update is reported, the complaint will be forwarded to the relevant moderation team and then to WhatsApp. The feature that will work from the desktop version will be provided with a button to be added to the status update as seen in the image above.
In case a WhatsApp user's message is reported, the platform will look at the last 5 messages in the conversation. As in the status update, the complaints will first go to the moderation team and then to WhatsApp.
WhatsApp brings this innovation especially because it wants to expand its security measures due to the rapid increase in the number of users. The instant communication platform wants to identify users who will commit security violations and share disturbing content. However, it is currently unknown what sanctions he will impose if the complaint is confirmed. WhatsApp reporting is currently being developed during the testing phase. It is not clear when it will come to the stable version.
