M2 Pro and Max processors in the performance test!
Recent benchmark tests on the Apple M2 Pro and M2 Max processors powering the new MacBook Pro have been revealed. Tests show improvements in the GPU performance of Apple's latest chips compared to the previous M1 Pro and M1 Max.
According to Geekbench scores, the M2 Pro with 19-core GPUs and the M2 Max with 38-core GPUs offer around 30 percent higher graphics performance than the M1 Pro and M1 Max. In comparison, the M1 Ultra, which was launched last year with Mac Studio, is about 9 percent faster than the M2 Max.
Benchmark results also show that the M2 Pro and M2 Max on the new MacBook Pro have values around 1900 and 15000 for single-core and multi-core, respectively. This means around 20 percent faster CPU performance than the M1 Pro and M1 Max.
Here are the overall performance results of the Apple M-series processors:
- M1 Ultra: 94.583 points
- M2 Max: 86,805 points
- M1 Max: 64,708 points
- M2 Pro: 52,691 points
- M1 Pro: 39,758 points
GPU tests show that the new MacBook Pro will appeal to more professionals, especially when it comes to graphics. More information about the new processors can be found in this article.
