iPhone 14 satellite connection system goes out of the US!

Scope of the satellite system that recently saved a person's life in Alaska has also begun to expand. Apple announced that the emergency satellite connection system has started to be offered in the UK, France, Germany and Ireland.

Apple's emergency satellite connection system will be available to all iPhone 14 owners with iOS 16.1 installed in the aforementioned countries. Thanks to this system, which is free for two years, iPhone 14 users will be able to use the satellite connection system in case of emergency.

Apple, while giving the good news of the emergency satellite connection system with its sharing, also shared the comments made by the security authorities in Europe on the subject. Gary Machado, CEO of the European Association for Emergency Numbers, says this about the porting of Apple's new satellite system to Europe:

"The satellite-connected emergency system makes emergency communication via satellite more accessible, which is very exciting. This app means that people who aren't in mobile coverage can call 112 when they need urgent help. We are confident that this will save many lives and provide significant assistance to emergency services facing complex situations."

John Anthony of the British Society for Public Safety Communications gives his views on the new satellite connection systems:

Being able to use a satellite connection to communicate with the 999 or 112 in cases where there is no cellular or Wi-Fi coverage is a great invention that Apple has made available to the public with the iPhone 14. This means that emergency services can be alerted in situations that were not possible before and basic details about the emergency can be shared with the staff. Thanks to this information, the authorities will be able to perform their duties more effectively. This will help save more lives.

Apple's satellite-connected emergency system was rolled out in the U.S. and Canada in November. By December, the service had been moved to certain regions in Europe. The US technology giant states that this service will be offered in more countries in the future.
