Apple Removes Some Configuration Options for 21.5-inch iMac From Sale

Tech giant Apple has removed the 512GB and 1TB SSD configuration options of the 21.5-inch 4K iMac from sale. The company also ended sales of the professional iMac Pro in recent weeks.

Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has ended sales of its professional-built iMac Pro in recent weeks. Just two weeks after the iMac Pro was unplugged, the company has now removed two different configuration options for the 4K 21.5-inch iMac through its website.

Apple has now unplugged the 512GB and 1TB SSD configuration options of the 21.5-inch 4K iMac, according to MacRumors. On the other hand, sales of the 256GB SSD and 1TB Fusion driver versions are still ongoing.

The two configuration options have reportedly not been available for purchase on Apple's website since last month and have now been completely removed from sale. It is not yet known why the US tech giant stopped selling these configuration options, but it is thought the company may have made such a decision to make room for its next generation of PCs.

A new iMac design is said to be on the way, along with M series chips. In a recent report, Bloomberg said apple could make some major design changes to the M1 chip that were previously not possible on Intel-powered systems. According to the report, Apple will significantly thin out iMacs by switching to a flatter back design rather than the curved model it currently has.

As we mentioned above, it is not yet known why Apple made such a decision. We will see in the coming days whether this is due to supply shortages or if such a decision has been made to make room for new designs.
